Louth and District Seniors' Forum

Around Louth

What's on for older people in the villages around Louth.

Louth and District Seniors’ Forum started this site to provide some information about what’s on in the areas around Louth for people over 50 to enjoy, learn or take part in.

Louth and District Seniors’ Forum exists to

  • promote the welfare of older people,
  • represent the views of the over 50s
  • campaign for better local services
  • work with others to improve health, social care, transport etc and
  • provide information about services, assistance, activities, groups and opportunities which are
    available for older people locally.

Membership is free.
We hold open meetings four times a year and a warm welcome awaits anyone over 50 living in the communities around Louth or in the town itself : there is a lift up to the room as well as stairs. The meetings are held on the first Friday mornings of March, June, September and December in the Conoco Room above the Library (LN11 0LY). Carers are most welcome as is anyone working to improve the quality of life for older people.

Specific speakers are invited to tell us about topics of current interest eg the health service locally, buses, safety in the home, equipment to help us hear!

Every three months or so, we produce a newsletter, ‘Open Voice’ and send it out free to all members of the Forum. It is sent electronically to a large number of other interested people.
Contact us louthseniors@yahoo.co.uk  if you wish to receive it.Although the Forum campaigns for better services for older people, its role is not to get involved with individual problems.  The Forum is not a counselling or advice service but may be able to direct individuals to appropriate agencies.

The Forum committee currently consists of a dozen members, all over the age of 50, who bring a lifetime of skills and experience to the Forum. All are committed to the task of improving life for ‘older people’.
Most members come from the area from Ulceby Cross in the south to ?Holton-le-Clay in the north and from Ludford in the west to Saltfleet in the east but these boundaries are only guides.  In 2010 there were 430 members.

Louth and District Seniors’ Forum is part of the
